Yoga owes its current popularity to the troubles in life conditions, stress of urban life and the fact that we have materialistic standards. Actually the roots of yoga go back to the Indian peninsula and ancient ages. In our country, its popularity increases day by day; new yoga studios keep being opened and new yoga trainers have been raised. The fact that yoga appeared in the aerobic lessons field for the first time; it has been conceived like an exercise type with a set of motions. Later on, we learned and continue to learn that it should have been done in its specific locations-in studios.

Yoga is not dependent on any religion as it has been thought. In fact, Yoga is a life style which affects our thoughts, emotions, existence and also our relationship with the environment. We can have much more awareness thanks to yoga. In that case, yoga is not going to be only exercise oriented.

This is the coherent union of your inner world and outer world within stability. This builds up integrity among our soul, thoughts and body. This provides us with unproblematic thought, a conscious soul and healthy body.

To make our mentality healthy and peaceful, we need to loosen it up. Yoga gives us methods to make that possible. Yoga guides us. It also makes our mind relaxed and eliminates those thoughts which disturb us. This leads us to be peaceful and shows us how to be relaxed under stressful conditions in our daily life.

Yoga has various types of position movements. These positions provide us with a more healthy and more comfortable body. Hence we can have a healthier and more powerful mentality. These positions or body movements are called asana. For instance, we might exercise a movement and we wait in that position for a while and then we get at the beginning. While we are in that position we might invent our borders. . . Each position has specific borders on individuals. We find out our border and then we try to take it a step ahead. While we are doing these positions we consciously practice breath exercises. These breath exercises give us inner looseness simultaneously. We inhale and exhale much more consciously and with more stability. Asanas provides our body’s power, flexibility and stability improvement. Therefore, we might easily keep fit by means of these motions.
Since Yoga brought the overall balance concept to our lives, balanced nutrition, balanced life, balanced actions lead us to the healthy living. That is why we might be at a normal weight as a healthy human. This is one of the most frequently asked questions to me; “May I loose weight by yoga?”

I think right now I am answering that question through this analysis.

Nowadays we can come across so many derivatives of Yoga. These have got nothing to do with the real Yoga and these are only physical exercises because they do not comply with the yoga positions. When we do not stick to the original Yoga, we can not mention its curative feature for us and the inner peace with which it provides our mentality and soul. It is impossible to conceive Yoga séance without specific positions, breath exercises and meditation practices. In the yoga séance if we come across only the positions, only physical improvements will be seen. You can never get into deepness. Yoga needs to be taken as a whole item and should be done being aware of everything in detail but not for the sake of fashion.

These days I come across those who take private yoga lessons. They prefer taking lessons by inviting yoga trainers their homes. But I think they forget the fact that the Yoga is sharing something. I recommend you to share it with your friends, couples, and the beloved.

Actually there are too many things regarding yoga to mention and write down here. These small points of information that I shared with you might only help you to understand Yoga to a partial extent. Maybe you have heard a lot about this subject in your environment.

Yoga is something you can do both as a younger or an older person and also you can still progress. I want to state that there is the eternal and miraculous side of Yoga.

I hope you will learn yoga not only going to the studios a couple of times a week but making it a part of your life and experiencing its benefits.
